Freedom, Part 6
Sunday, December 16th, 2007 : By Dan Miller
Throughout this series we have firmly cemented the Biblical truth that God wants us to experience freedom! The Bible says that it is for freedom Christ has set us free (Galatians 5:1). Not only was freedom God’s gift to us when we first trusted in Jesus, it is also God’s gift for us every day (see Galatians 5:13). How? By giving us His Spirit when we trusted in Christ! God is now on the inside working to change our attitude/actions in and through us. How will you know when this is happening? When I walk in the Spirit I will experience the freedom that comes from God and I can verify His working through the fruit (or result) of the Spirit in my life. When these qualities exist I am assured of God’s activity and my spiritual health. But here is the tricky part, what do you do if someone is not walking by the Spirit? What if they are displaying the works of the flesh (Galatians 19-21) and yet claim to be a follower of Christ? Today, you will get a game-plan of 4 things to remember when helping a person who is spiritual unhealthy.
About The Author
I have been married to an amazing wife, Vicki, since 1992 and together we enjoy pouring into our six kids the greatness of our God. My favorite food is Italian. I enjoy playing 80’s metal riffs on my guitar. I love all the major sports (except soccer, but that’s not really a sport anyhow). My favorite sporting event is the Final Four tournament in March/April. I think the best season of the year is the Fall. I would love to be hiking and camping on some trail right now.
