This is maybe your greatest post to date Hugh. I heard of Randy Pausch's passing Saturday morning. Ironically this is just one day after going to my son's college orientation for the day and made me think of the "lectures" that my son will get over the next 4 years in college. At least I hope is is 4 years as who knows how much time any of us has here other than God?

Ironically another "Randy", artist Randy Stonehill had a great song in that 80s that is one of mine and Mary's all time favorites. The song is called "Celebrate this Heartbeat". The beginning goes "I'm gonna celebrate this heartbeat, cause it just might be my last. Every day is a gift from the Lord on high and they all go by so fast!"

I sent the "last lecture" link to Stephen to watch as it is so inspiring and demonstrates that we are all just a "heartbeat" from eternity. Though Randy's words do not show Christ as his hope (this is so sad), it does have some great lessons we can take as believers as to how we should be living our lives for the Glory of God, to the fullest, abundantly, and to live for today as our lives are just a "vapor" as the bible tell us.

I most enjoyed how he put into perspective how the pursuit of money was not important, but instead loving and caring about family and others more than ourselves.

That should be our focus everyday as believers to a lost world that God can us as a tool to bring others to himself. This also applies to each other within our own body at GF.

Again, great post and well written Hugh!
