I thank God for my parents

This past week, my parents came and visited with our family for about 5 days. They currently live in Lakeland Florida, having resided in Pensacola for most of my life.

As we all get older and reflect on the blessings of life, I am humbled and thankful for the parents that God gave me.

My Dad, Joe, is the most disciplined and focused person I have ever known. As a boy, I thought he was strict (He was). Yet now as a parent I am thankful for the “tough yet fair” model he gave me. And it is also incredible to see the mellowing transformation that takes place between being a “Dad” and a “Paw-Paw”. Is …

Is this the kind of church you want us to be?

In the 1700’s George Whitefield prayed that God would raise up a generation of people who longed for the glory of God. A people who were dedicated to preaching the great truths of God.

The gospel was presented on Nightline

Last night, Angela were watching tv, surfed over to Nightline to be suddenly surprised to see Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort interviewed about street evangelism.

They showed some of the same video clips we used in worship services last year. These clips show Kirk and Ray talking to people on the street using the law (the 10 commandments)as a way of communicating people’s sin and their need to trust in Christ. Their ministry

It was very encouraging to see such a clear gospel presaentation made on network television.
