2007 Children Desiring God Conference

Friday, April 27th, 2007 : By Eric Farr

As most of you probably know, Grace Fellowship sent a a contingent of 17 people to the 2007 Children Desiring God Conference in Minnesota. Desiring God has already posted Dr. Piper’s opening address: The Gospel for 11-Year-Olds Plus. I’m not sure if the other talks will be posted, but if they are, you will find them here.

Also, Alex Chediak is live-blogging the talks; so, you can follow along that way as well.

Let’s remember to pray for those at the conference as well as those family members (mostly husbands and children) left behind.

Self Control

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007 : By Eric Farr

For those of us who have used the occasion of the end of the holiday season binge eating, the arrival of a new year, and the release of another Rocky movie to trim down to fighting weight, Justin Taylor offers a brief reflection from Ed Welch that reminds us that this is not just a cosmetic or health issue–it’s a spiritual issue.

…given that our enemy is subtle and crafty, a strategy is essential. This is just one of the ways that New Year’s resolutions get thrown onto the scrap heap. Having eaten too much over the holidays, we make a resolution to eat wisely. But our decision usually lasts no longer than dinner the next day.

Yes, this one is quite predictable. It’s no secret that I am a huge STR fan. As Greg Koukl answers calls from believers and unbelievers, you ‘ll not only get answers, you will also see how he approaches the challenges and and works through …

Please pray for Matt Hodge as he travels to India

Monday, May 22nd, 2006 : By Kevin Maner

At Grace Fellowship, we believe in supporting our members and regular attenders as they go out into the world to carry out the Great Commission. I would like to share with the church body the information that I received from Matt Hodge, on his mission trip to India that starts today.

Matt is currently a student at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

Please also pray for Matt’s wife Jenny and their son Benjamin in Matt’s absence.

Matt’s Email Letter:

In a few short hours I begin my long journey (29 hours in the air/45 hours
total) to Calcutta, India. I will actually be in India for only ten days,
but will be away from the States for two weeks.

This is …

Welcome to the Missions Minder!

Monday, March 20th, 2006 : By Kevin Maner

Welcome to the Grace Fellowship Missions Minder! This “blog” is intended as a space to keep Grace Fellowship members and regular attenders up to date on everything that God is doing in the missions area at Grace.

Currrently, we are in the planning stages of the West Virginia and Venezuela mission trips for the summer of 2006. We now have over 40 people signed up for West Virginia and over 20 for Venezuela mission trips for this summer.

In West Virginia, we partner with Mustard Seeds and Mountains. Randy and Jacque Wallace run this ministry in McDowell County, West Virginia. It is primarily a home repair and evangelism ministry. They also provide the opportunity for visiting teams …
