Freedom, Part 7

Sunday, January 6th, 2008 : By Dan Miller

The Bible says that it is for freedom Christ has set us free (v.1). In our last teaching time we saw the game-plan (Gal. 6:1-2) to deal with people who call themselves followers of Christ (“Christians”) yet are displaying the works of the flesh (5:19-21). Today, we will look at three things that hold us back from helping people who are spiritually unhealthy and some specific signs to look for when a person has been restored to spiritual health again.

Freedom, Part 6

Sunday, December 16th, 2007 : By Dan Miller

Throughout this series we have firmly cemented the Biblical truth that God wants us to experience freedom!  The Bible says that it is for freedom Christ has set us free (Galatians 5:1).  Not only was freedom God’s gift to us when we first trusted in Jesus, it is also God’s gift for us every day (see Galatians 5:13).  How?  By giving us His Spirit when we trusted in Christ!  God is now on the inside working to change our attitude/actions in and through us.  How will you know when this is happening?  When I walk in the Spirit I will experience the freedom that comes from God and I can verify His working through the fruit (or result) of

Freedom, Part 5

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007 : By Dan Miller

Not only was freedom God’s gift to us when we first trusted in Jesus (Galatians 5:1), it is also God’s gift for us every day (Galatians 5:13).  In other words, God is now on the inside, via His Holy Spirit, working to change our attitude/actions in and through us.  How?  The Bible says, when we walk in the Spirit we will not gratify the desires of the flesh (Galatians 5:16, 19-21).  How do you know if you are “walking in the Spirit?”  This is the subject we will explore in today’s teaching

Freedom, Part 4

Sunday, November 25th, 2007 : By Dan Miller

Spiritual freedom is a result of a relationship with God on His terms and Jesus’ obedience secures this for us once and for all.  Our new walk with Christ will now supply us with the ability to walk in the Spirit so that we will not gratify the desires of the flesh.  Today we will discuss this and how our new relationship with our Heavenly Father puts us in a position to pursue a life of freedom, a life of enjoying Him and living life on-purpose.

Today’s teaching will flow from Galatians 5:15-21.

Freedom, Part 3

Sunday, November 18th, 2007 : By Dan Miller

Trusting in Jesus is meant to result in your freedom.  Today we continue to discuss how false teaching can instead burden us down by making us think that we must add something to our trust of Christ in order to be truly accepted by God.

Throughout this series we will try to help you understand the freedom that God offers us through Christ and the dire responsibility we have to defend this truth from those who would seek to add or take away the central and exclusive role that Jesus has is Salvation.

Today’s teaching will flow from Galatians 5:7-15.

Freedom

Sunday, October 28th, 2007 : By Dan Miller

Trusting in Jesus is meant to result in your freedom.  Unfortunately, this is not the case for many Christians.  Why is this?  Why do some followers of Christ feel more burdened down than set free?  In this series you will learn that a key to achieving spiritual freedom is found when we begin to value the right thing because that will enable us to live the right way – free, enjoying the grace and goodness of God because of Jesus!

Today’s teaching will flow from Galatians 5:1-6.
