We have annual mission trips for youth and adults in support of different local, national and international ministries. It is our heart and our desire to build long-term relationships with our missions partners and not just through an annual missions trip. We want to send interns, host interns and be active in the support of ministries that we partner with. We want to work with them over the years as we partner together to spread God’s fame in their home community and in ours.
Why Is Missions So Important?
Missions is an integral part of everything that we do at Grace Fellowship. We believe in spreading God’s fame in South Forsyth, North Fulton, the Atlanta area and around the world.
First and foremost because of the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19-20:
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The Lord has commanded us to spread His fame here in the Atlanta area and around the world and we take Him at His Word. By being active in missions, we as believers can have the exciting privilege of partnering with God to spread His fame around our community and around the world.
Secondly, missions helps us as followers of Christ to understand how big God is and how He is working through believers of all cultures and languages around the world to spread His fame to every corner of the globe.
And, finally, mission work in an unfamiliar or uncomfortable environment helps us gain a deeper love for those that are lost in both our home and our missions communities. When we learn to have a burden for those that are lost in Latin America, Asia or Africa, we will by extension gain a deeper love for those at our work, in our schools, and on our streets.
Grace Fellowship is currently partnering with the following missions organizations:
The Dirrim’s moved to Guatemala in Oct. 2011 to become full-time missionaries and to complete the adoption process of Pablo Lux Alonso. Learn more about their story.
Club House Guatemala
A Christ centered ministry that goes into villages and reaches children and adults through block parties, shoes, face paint, cotton candy, vacation bible school, and many other creative ways to show the love of Christ.
Mustards Seeds & Mountains, West Virginia
We are called to be a part of the larger Church's ministry of reconciliation. Within that context we have a specialized call to work in meeting the physical needs of the poor and in Christ's name empowering them to achieve a life of greater dignity and self reliance.
