Final Points—The Work of the Holy Spirit

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008 : By Ken Rutherford

On August 3rd, I didn’t quite complete my lesson and I mentioned that I would post the final points to the blog. Well, better late than never! Credit to Wayne Grudem, Systematic Theology for the bulk of this lesson.

The Holy Spirit Unifies
When the Spirit was poured out on the church at Pentecost, Peter proclaimed that the prophecy of Joel 2:28-32 was fulfilled (see Acts 2:16-18)

ChurchWorks: How You Function, Part 5

Sunday, July 13th, 2008 : By Dan Miller

How do the miracles in the Old Testament relate to the Spirit of God working in the Church today? How can we better discern the true expressions of the Spirit of God from the fake behaviors that some claim to be from the “Spirit.” Today we will continue to answer these types of questions and set the stage for our examination of the specific function of the Apostles as well as the general working of the Holy Spirit. Today, we will continue our tour of a church that had its fill of spiritually gifted people, yet had serious issues with acting in ways that were, at times, completely not spiritual. ChurchWorks: How You Function, Part 3

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008 : By Dan Miller

How do you ensure that the expression of spiritual gifts do not turn into “spiritual” liabilities? How do you know when an expression or outworking in a church is truly of God? Is there a way to really know? Today, we will take a tour of a church that had its fill of spiritually gifted people, yet had serious issues with acting in ways that were, at times, completely not spiritual. In Paul’s teaching to the church at Corinth, we discover pivotal truths that must govern any and all expressions of spiritual gifts. Today’s teaching will help you to avoid becoming a “spiritual” liability. MP3 download.

graceTALK, October 2006

Sunday, October 29th, 2006 : By Leadership Team

The Leadership Team answers your questions.

Q1 (1:38):  Acknowledging that Christ is our only hope (not man or political parties) and that God is sovereign over all things, what is the view of the Grace Fellowship Leadership Team on the church’s role in politics or political activism?  What Scriptures can you point us to in support of your answer?

Q2 (7:45):  I have friends (christians) who think Halloween is of the devil and no Christian should have anything to do with it.  I have other friends (also christians) who dress up and go door-to-door and think nothing of it.  Which approach is right?

Q3 (20:52):  The Bible speaks of the possibility of sin being passed on to several generations.  …
