Ever Think About Doing Bible Translation?
Wednesday, May 5th, 2010 : By Dan Miller
Desiring God posted the following call for Bible translators. I thought that GF may have some people that God could be calling to this type of Kingdom work.

New Year’s Resources for Personal and Family Devotions
Saturday, January 9th, 2010 : By Kevin Hosner
In our family, the new year provides a great time to set goals for the year. One of the goals our family has is to read through the Bible as a family this year. Whatever your plan, there are many tools to help you focus on planning, and reading God’s Word.
So as we begin the new year, I wanted to share some resources for reading through the Bible in 2010.
Grace Fellowship… of course
The Gospel Coalition
ESV
Ransom Fellowship
Crossway Books
Each of these plans have different ways to accomplish the same goal: intentionally planning to read God’s Word. Make reading God’s Word a priority in 2010.

GraceTalk: Is the Bible Reliable?
Friday, September 25th, 2009 : By Kevin Hosner
This is a question recently submitted for Grace Talk:
How can Mark or any of the gospel writers so accurately record what Jesus said? Was someone writing it down as Jesus said it?
Of course, they wrote in the Queen’s English (or should I say King’s?) Just joking…that blog will be for another day. To answer this question, we must look at the evidence.
Today, there are almost five thousand ancient Greek manuscripts of the New Testament! Consider this, fifteen hundred years after Herodotus wrote his history there was only one copy in the entire world. Twelve hundred years after Plato wrote his classic, there was only one manuscript of it left. Today, there exists but a few …

A Review of “The Shack”
Monday, January 26th, 2009 : By Ken Rutherford
I spent the day, on a relaxing vacation, reading “The Shack” by William Paul Young. This book was given to my daughter. My wife read it several months ago. Several people in our small group have read it. Several people at work have read it. While here on vacation, I had several people say, “I noticed you are reading ‘The Shack’. I read that too. What do you think?” I have also seen a few copies being read pool-side and on the airplane. Needless to say, this little book has made the rounds. My discussion with people who have read the book are all very similar. Everyone found profound and moving content in the book. And everyone had some negative …

ESV Study Bible
Monday, October 13th, 2008 : By Eric Farr
The ESV Study Bible ships this week. As study Bibles go, this appears to be a good one. If you are planning to order one, you can get it Amazon for $31.49 (as of this posting). If you order it from this link (or the search box on the Library page), Grace Fellowship will get close to $2 as a referral fee.
I haven’t seen a copy, but with features like in-line color maps and figures (see Solomon’s Temple example), extensive background notes and introduction (see Psalms example), it looks like it will set a new standard for study Bibles. Of course, at 2752 pages, you may need to check with your doctor before making

God Questions, Part 5
Sunday, April 27th, 2008 : By Leadership Team
God is a big topic and people have tons of questions so we asked people what were some “God Questions” they would like to see discussed. Today, we talk about “What happens to those people living on an island in the middle of the Pacific who will never hear about Jesus Christ?”

Is the Bible Reliable?
Sunday, April 13th, 2008 : By Dan Miller
I told last weeks Overflow group that I would post information related to the reliability of the New Testament by scholars who traffic in these types of scholarly issues.
F. E. Peters states that
On the basis of manuscript tradition alone, the works that made up the Christians’ New Testament were the most frequently copied and widely circulated books of antiquity.
John Warwick Montgomery says that
To be skeptical of the resultant text of the New Testament books is to allow all of classical antiquity to slip into obscurity, for no documents of the ancient period are as well attested bibliographically as the New Testament.
Sir Frederic G. Kenyon, states that
Note: Dr. Kenyon is the director …

How was the Information in the Bible Chosen?
Tuesday, April 8th, 2008 : By Dan Miller
Our God Question from this past Sunday dealt with the questions:
How do you know the Bible wasn’t written by men pushing their idea of God? Also, why should we take the Bible literally?
During the discussion we fielded questions regarding how exactly were the books in the Bible determined to be authentic? I mean couldn’t we have gotten a book in the Bible that was just rubbish? In order to consider the questions let’s take a look at the specific tests for a book to be included in the Bible.
Note: This blog relates to information for inclusion in the New Testament part of the Bible. The evidence supports that the Hebrew canon (The …
