Sunday, July 5th, 2009 : By Leadership Team
The Leadership Team answers your questions.
Q1 (1:32). If someone fully believes that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again, yet they are a murderer and kill a ton of people, will they still go to Heaven? Why is there Judgment Day if it is black and white – People who believe in Jesus go to heaven and people who do not go to Hell? What is Judgment Day when we stand before the Lord for then?
Q2 (17:26). A friend of mine who is a Christian was discussing George Tiller’s death with me. He felt it was justified; not an evil act or even wrong for …

I’m Not Saying President Obama is Wrong but…
Wednesday, March 11th, 2009 : By Dan Miller
I’m not saying President Obama is wrong but… something really smells. While I am not a “conspiracy person” I have been astounded at the actions of President Obama. It seems clear to me that the present course of spending will drive this economy into the ground in the long-run regardless of any short-term benefit. It simply does not make sense that a very educated and naturally informed President would chart a financial course of action that is violently opposed to our free-market system. So I am asking for your help. I would like you to help me in striving for balance in my outlook. Does the following information serve as a …

Money Makes the World Go-Round
Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 : By Dan Miller
The other day I was thinking of how the world system of greed is ingrained in the American culture (sometimes called the “American Dream”) through the use of the tenets of capitalism. Think about it, if it wasn’t for greed capitalism wouldn’t work nearly as good as it has for over 250 years. Yet, capitalism, for a Christian, can be extremely toxic to one’s faith of trusting in Christ alone. Fast forward… I then saw the video posted below from a Mr. Friedman on the Donahue show from some years ago. I found his analysis penetrating and convincing in regard to the system we have is the best thus far in the history of the world. …

How Much Is 1 Trillion Dollars?
Sunday, February 8th, 2009 : By Dan Miller
Amanda Shaw collects the numbers on the price tag for the new “stimulus” plan:
Adjusted for inflation, here are some other massive expenditures:
* The Marshall Plan ($115.3 billion)
* The space race ($237 billion)
* The Korean War ($454 billion)
* The New Deal ($500 billion)
* The invasion of Iraq ($597 billion)
* The Vietnam War ($698 billion)
So the proposed “stimulus” package costs more than the Marshall Plan, the Korean War, and the New Deal combined.
Here are some thought experiments (some mentioned in video above):
* …

Election Reflections
Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 : By Hugh Williams
I put a few thoughts together before the election, but never got around to posting them. Now that the results are in, it seems like it’s still worth posting, so here goes…
1. Over the last four years, Grace Fellowship has been immeasurably more impactful to my life than the White House. I have no reason to suspect that the next four years will be any different, and that’s as it should be.
2. In John 19:11, Jesus said to Pilate, “You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above.” That’s been true of every elected official who has served and led us, and it’s just as true of the

The Leadership Team answers your questions.
Q1 (1:02). I have recently begun to attend Grace Fellowship and have really enjoyed it. Lately, I have been struggling over how to be take part in presidential politics yet not get filled with anxiety and frustration. Any counsel on how I can maintain balance and yet be responsible to do my part before God?
Q2 (20:16). A friend of mine regularly asks for prayer yet doesn’t tell me exactly how to pray. So, is there a specific prayer I can pray regardless of the situation and have confidence I am praying right?
Q3 (28:04). In Romans 2:1 it says, “Therefore you have no …

Any Good Christian Will Vote for…
Wednesday, June 18th, 2008 : By Dan Miller
There are few issues like politics that inspire question marks in the minds of Christians. Questions like, Do I vote for a candidate who is “pro-choice” when the other candidate is not only “pro-choice” but “pro-tax”, “pro-big government,” “pro-liberal social programs”, etc? Living in a society in which we are given the freedom to participate in the political process in turn demands that we learn to think through finding balance in how we cast our vote as a follower of Christ. Let’s face it, to abstain completely from voting because a candidate holds a view that you or me would consider to be “unchristian” will leave us with no candidate at all. A person with this …

God’s Providence, Part 1
Sunday, April 27th, 2008 : By Ken Rutherford
The Doctrine of God: Week 24
Systematic Theology: An Introduction to Biblical Doctrine, by Wayne Grudem.
Chapter 16, God’s Providence: If God controls all things, how can our actions have real meaning? What are the decrees of God?
This week we begin our discussion on how God keeps all created things existing and maintaining the properties with which he created them (preservation) and how He cooperates with created things in every action, directing their distinctive properties to cause them to act the way they do (concurrence).

Sunday, October 29th, 2006 : By Leadership Team
The Leadership Team answers your questions.
Q1 (1:38): Acknowledging that Christ is our only hope (not man or political parties) and that God is sovereign over all things, what is the view of the Grace Fellowship Leadership Team on the church’s role in politics or political activism? What Scriptures can you point us to in support of your answer?
Q2 (7:45): I have friends (christians) who think Halloween is of the devil and no Christian should have anything to do with it. I have other friends (also christians) who dress up and go door-to-door and think nothing of it. Which approach is right?
Q3 (20:52): The Bible speaks of the possibility of sin being passed on to several generations. …
