Christians Who Stuggle with Homosexual Desires
Tuesday, March 10th, 2009 : By Dan Miller
If the title of this blog surprised you (that true and sincere followers of Christ can have homosexual desires) than you my friend need to wake up. Paul places the act of homosexuality right alongside of “everyday” sins giving us a strong reminder that this is not some ultra-sin.
9 …do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of

When “Blue” Seemingly Goes Grey
Thursday, January 15th, 2009 : By Dan Miller
I recently wrote a blog-post called How To Express Your Faith Without Losing Your Friend in which I tried to find the edges in various ways people (“Red” and “Blue” people) can legitimately express the Gospel in different ways without compromising the message. I’m a big fan of realizing that being different does not necessarily mean being wrong. In this blog, I use Rick Warren and a speech he gave to Muslims as an example. Although I didn’t endorse his comments and thought he needed to be very careful in his trajectory; I did think maybe he is still on solid ground just trying to create a dialogue that I don’t realize since the reference point …

Payday in Politics
Thursday, December 18th, 2008 : By Dan Miller
Being in politics is difficult in today’s media-saturated, options-oriented world. This can be especially true if you have strong beliefs that you won’t compromise on regardless of the polls. However, this type of politician will, almost assuredly, never rise to any significant level of power without a large dose of compromise.
However, those politicians who find compromise easy and fashion themselves as political chameleons (like Barack Obama) will face a day when specific measurable decisions need to be made (BTW. Both parties are guilty of this. In other words, I am not being partisan toward a candidate or party, but trying to evaluate the role truth and courage play in politics. I simply use Barack Obama …

Are You A Bigot?
Friday, November 21st, 2008 : By Dan Miller
Speaking on CNN’s “Late Edition”, Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger expressed disappointment at Proposition 8’s passage.
“It is unfortunate,” Schwarzenegger said. “But it is not the end because I think this will go back into the courts. … It’s the same as in the 1948 case when blacks and whites were not allowed to marry.
This falls into the same category.”
So, this woman (see video below) is a bigot harboring a racist viewpoint? How about you? Are you promoting racial inequality in the same way that “blacks and whites” were hindered from being able to not marry in the 1940’s? Why or why not?

Californians say “NO” to Same-Sex Marriage
Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 : By Dan Miller
While many were focused on the big prize of the Presidential election, there was a pivotal vote on a referendum called “Proposition 8″ in California. Proposition 8 is a amendment to the Constitution of California that would define marriage exclusively between a man and a woman.
What does this mean? Since California voters have approved the amendment, this effectively outlaws some 18,000 same-sex marriage that have taken place over the last 4 1/2 months. The voters have overturned the California State Supreme Court decision that gave gay couples the right to marry.
The passage of Proposition 8 represents a crushing political defeat for gay rights activists. They had hoped public opinion on the contentious issue had shifted enough …

J.I. Packer on Homosexuality
Sunday, July 20th, 2008 : By Dan Miller
Listen as J.I. Packer draws to a tight focus the central issue in regard to homosexuality, the Gospel itself. Dr. Packer makes a very lucid argument for why it is the very Gospel of Christ that is at stake when it comes to the issue of same-sex relationships.
