ChurchWorks: How You Function, Part 2

Sunday, June 8th, 2008 : By Dan Miller

In Segment one of this series, we took three weeks to examine the marks of a God-owned Church (Knowing Who You Are).  Last week we began segment two (Knowing How You Function), and addressed how our oneness as a church is expressed through our distinctness in our spiritual gifting.  Today we will continue to see, based on account of what Christ has done in the atonement, how we can now shape each other with such effectiveness as to actually contribute to the spiritual health of one another.  MP3 download.

graceTALK, May 2008

Sunday, May 4th, 2008 : By Leadership Team

The Leadership Team answers your questions.

Q1 (2:29):  Several years ago, I had an argument with my sister-in-law in which she accused me and my husband of all sorts of transgressions against members of the family.  The big problem was that not a single one of those offenses was against her.  After the argument, we received calls from the remaining siblings who were present at my toungue lashing telling me that they held nothing against my husband and me and didn’t even know what offenses the sister-in-law was talking about.  I wrote an open letter of apology to our family members and asked them to come to us in the future if they held something against us.  …

Help from the Ladies for V-Day?!

Thursday, February 7th, 2008 : By Dan Miller

OK. We know Valentines Day is right around the corner and men everywhere have one shot to get this right. So, ladies, let’s do a type of electronic intervention and help the man in your life understand what NOT to buy. I’ll start the list given my vast experience in being a jug-head.

1. A box of chocolates, clumsily rearranged in an attempt to hide the fact you ate all the caramel ones.
2. Any food item with the words “diet”, “light”, or “high fiber” on the label.
3. Anything you ever gave another woman, including your mother.
4. Any household appliance, power tool or other item from the “man-side” of Sears.
5. A …

You’ve Been Warned…

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008 : By Dan Miller

A young woman was taking an afternoon nap. After she woke up, she told her husband, “I just dreamt that you gave me a pearl necklace for Valentine’s Day. What do you think it means?”

“You shall know tonight,” he said.

That evening, the man came home with a small package and gave it to his wife. Delighted, she opened it. She found a book entitled “The Meaning of Dreams.”

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007 : By Dan Miller

Not only was freedom God’s gift to us when we first trusted in Jesus (Galatians 5:1), it is also God’s gift for us every day (Galatians 5:13).  In other words, God is now on the inside, via His Holy Spirit, working to change our attitude/actions in and through us.  How?  The Bible says, when we walk in the Spirit we will not gratify the desires of the flesh (Galatians 5:16, 19-21).  How do you know if you are “walking in the Spirit?”  This is the subject we will explore in today’s teaching
