ABC News Interviews Steven Curtis Chapman and Family

When Death and Joy are Mixed Together

On Friday (June 20), Dennis Rainey of Family Life sent the following email to some of his friends regarding the death of his newly-born granddaughter, Molly. The e-mails have now been made public since they hold a wonderful testament to God’s grace in the lives of the extended family. Dennis recounts his emotions and surrounding circumstances of the last precious moments spent with family and Molly before she passed to be with Jesus.

In Memory of Maria Chapman

We weep with those who weep, grieving, but not as those who have no hope.

News from last night: Steven Curtis Chapman’s youngest child died Wednesday evening after being struck by a car driven by her teenage brother in the driveway of the family’s Williamson County home.

Maria, one of the Christian singer’s six children, was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt Hospital, which confirmed the death, according to Laura McPherson, a spokeswoman for the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

The 5-year-old was hit by an SUV. . . .

Singer/songwriter Chapman, who recently was inducted into Music City Walk of Fame, is one of contemporary Christian music’s most recognizable and most awarded names.

Pain Before the Fall?

In this past Sunday’s God Questions series, we tackled the question: If God loves the world so much then why is there so much pain in this world? In talking about that, we mentioned that pain was introduced with the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Astute listeners have pointed out that in Genesis 3:16, God gives Eve (and all women after her) the bad news that He would increase her pain in childbirth. This implies that there was at least some pain in childbirth before the fall.

‘What If’ World #5 and the Unmistakable Reminder
