Q1 (1:29). In light of recent elections, I have heard Christian-radio citing a verse that we need to claim during these tough times: “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” II Chronicles 7:14
Q2 (9:46). Why are Catholics persecuted when for the most part we believe the same things that any normal protestant church believes?

A Review of “The Shack”
Monday, January 26th, 2009 : By Ken Rutherford
I spent the day, on a relaxing vacation, reading “The Shack” by William Paul Young. This book was given to my daughter. My wife read it several months ago. Several people in our small group have read it. Several people at work have read it. While here on vacation, I had several people say, “I noticed you are reading ‘The Shack’. I read that too. What do you think?” I have also seen a few copies being read pool-side and on the airplane. Needless to say, this little book has made the rounds. My discussion with people who have read the book are all very similar. Everyone found profound and moving content in the book. And everyone had some negative …

Sunday, January 4th, 2009 : By Leadership Team
The Leadership Team answers your questions.
Q1 (00:29). I recently visited another church with a friend who wanted to start going to church again. They (husband and wife) wanted a church that was big so that they could “ease” into the whole church thing. So, I went along to encourage them. We went to a “mega” church in the area and I was blown away. It was like a rock concert! The message was good (in a creative sense) but seemed very shallow. I didn’t even need to use my Bible. So, now I am in a pickle. I want my friend to go to church, but I …

God’s Christmas List, Part 1
Sunday, December 14th, 2008 : By Dan Miller
If God had a Christmas list what do you think would be on it? In other words, what does God want for Christmas? I must admit I am using this idea to help us focus on a unique perspective and in no way want you to think that God is in NEED of anything. However, could we say that God WANTS something from us? Could it be something uniquitely related to Christmas? MP3 download.

Have you ever been in a situation in which you know how you should act, but find yourself negotiating your options? For example, “I know I should not let my child get away with his or her wrong attitude, but if I stopped to deal with this every time it happened I would never get anything done!” Or, “I know I shouldn’t act like this to my husband or wife, but if I don’t get upset and yell I will never be heard!” I call this world “The Wonderful World of What If.”
In this series we will examine the life of Moses and his “what if” world while finding ways to combat our tendency to first think about manage our …
