Each “Second Saturday” we are inviting men (college age and up) to come together to get to know one another as well as be encouraged to make a difference in your world. We want this to be fueled by the overflow of our daily, imperfect, grace-fueled, energy-devoted walk with Jesus. Birthing and fathering/mentoring spiritual generations is our “great commission”. It is our sacred responsibility to steward well.
Our focus for Second Saturday will be expressed in three things:
- Building Deeper Relationships In Christ
It’s simple but not easy. Going deeper with one another as disciples of Jesus takes intentional commitment and time. Randy powerfully reminded us of some of the principles that Jesus Himself modeled in relationships, and Dan reminded us of the Kingdom plans that God has been unveiling since the beginning.
- Co-Discipling One Another
We each personally and individually need to own this. Discipleship doesn’t happen by proximity osmosis. We must pursue it with the kind of gusto we demonstrated on the crazy contest game field.
- Disciple-Making Personal Passion
In 2017, the plan is to focus our discipleship on intentional personal relationships fostered by a “Table Host” format. A pair of men will serve as table hosts for Second Saturdays, and guys can expect to sit with and get to know, the same guys at their small group table each month. The goal is for each of those table groups to get together once per month outside of Second Saturday in the time, place and format that works best for them.
