The story of Joseph, the beloved son of Jacob, is a favorite for many Bible readers. It has all the earmarks of great storytelling — family animosity, a murder plot, intrigue, emotional highs and lows, temptation, peril, vindication and finally restoration. Through it all, Joseph emerges as perhaps the purest of Old Testament characters. How then, can Jesus be the True and Better Joseph? This morning, we take in a sweeping panorama of the story of Joseph and see how this beautiful narrative is actually telling the story of Jesus, the beloved son of God.
